| Which House M.D. character are you? |
![]() ![]() Gregory House Grumpy, selfish, and bitchy, the first impression people get of you normally isn't a good one. And as people get to know you, their prospect probably won't change. But inside you're really just someone that's waiting for everyone to figure out you really aren't all that bad, you just like to be that way. |
| How do you compare? Take this test! | Tests from Testriffic</font> |
I love them both - but I think I'd rather be in an elevator with Eeyore (as I have been trapped in an elevator before). Firstly - because Eeyore saying. "Here we go... I knew as soon as I got on the elevator something bad would happen. They aren't going to be able to get us out of here..." would be darned amusing.
Secondly - Tigger's bouncing would make the elevator jump - and creak and make all sorts of unhealthy 'it's gonna fall now' sounds.
Also I just plain love donkey's (I have a herd of nine of the little critters) and they are affectionate and fun to cuddle.
Plus I tend to be more of an Eeyore than a Tigger - so birds of a feather you know.
No it's not House - it's horse rescue.
I decided I would set something up for the horses I rescue...
Highland Dude Equine Rescue
I will post profiles of the horses that are available for adoption or whatever. :)
First we'll start with what Lisa E. would like... The dogs. (all small animals are spayed or neutered and all colts/studs have been gelded)
Bailey: He's a shiba inu who spent the first five years of his life in a concrete and security wire cage. Completely unsocialized with people. I ransomed him out from the backyard breeder who had him. He was cryptorchid and she (we found out later) was using him for breeding - big no no. So with this completely unsocialized dog I tried to bring him out of his shell and failed. :( However the happy news is my mother *did* bring him out of his shell. He's about 12 - 14 years old now (getting up there in age) but for my mom he's a big bundle of fun. He still doesn't trust most people - me only slightly, but he is a much happier dog who no longer spends his life in a cage.
Kira and Kobi: These two trouble makers are again a pair of shiba inu's who couldn't be kept by their owner. Other people rescued them, we adopted them and now they're old ladies that run their humans into the ground. Kira is pretty much perfect. However Kobi is the result of bad breeding - way below breed standard, horrible alergies - she has to be on natural food to keep them at bay. On regular dog food (no matter what kind) - she swells up, her hair starts falling out - it's awful.
Akane: This is my not registered shiba who came all the way from Okinawa Japan!!! They are street dogs there - who are going to be put down when they end up in the base pound. So one of the girls who work on the base there, went to the pound, told them to bring her the Shiba that was closest to going to the gas chamber, brought her home, socialized her, then shipped her on a military jet with one of the men going home to Seattle and then they put her on another plane to Vancouver BC. Another friend picked her up there and shipped her to Edmonton.
An underground railroad of rescue for a pooch. But she's a sweet dog.
Hennessey: Our token non-shiba rescue (just kidding) - She is a German Rottweiller that our vet asked us to take. (Our vet has placed dogs with us before and knows how we take care of them) The people who had her before let her run and ruined her. So we tried to teach her not to run - didn't work. However we're a working farm - we have cattle and horses and such and Hennessey ran afoul of one of the bigger beasts and her leg was shattered. Mom had it amputated (a discounted cost of 800.00) now she doesn't run *quite* as much but she's still a crazy high strung thing.
Okay, that's enough for now - my fingers are sore and there are WAY more horses than there are dogs - so we'll get to them later.
I made mutual friends with Eyeroller, Topaz_Eyes, Kimbari and Pokeitlikejello...
I thought I made mutual friends with Icarus_Abides - but she hasn't added me yet.
And I'm waiting to see what Glicine does :)
How to explain this... it's like working out for five hours with two minute breaks between reps/machines in one night.
I got up at 7:00am - was working by 7:30am - stopped working at 5:00pm - okay so that's actually 9.5 hours of regular BA work - which contrary to my mother's belief is actually *quite* tiring. Then I got to take a break - until 6:30pm. An hour and a half.
At that point, we went out and started moving cattle panels to build a run to move two yearlings to the same pen as the mini-horses. Now, that's moving 70lb steel panels that link like ... well sorta like lego to span 150 ft. except because we don't have enough to go the entire 150 ft, you have to keep closing the run behind the two horses then loading up the excess panels you have freed onto the tractor forks and moving them down to the front of the run, building the fence then closing it off again. And that's just me, my 74 year old mother and my 11 year old kid - because the 18 year old took off.
I'll tell you what if this keeps up any excess weight I am carrying will very quickly melt off. I'm pretty sure I dropped at least 10 pounds over four days just by the way my pants are fitting.
We didn't get inside until 11:30pm - at which time I took fifteen minutes to guzzle back a pepsi to replenish my blood sugar enough that I didn't just pass out, then I gathered clothing for work - tossed it in the washer - asked my mom nicely to put it in the dryer (she was still staying up) and crashed at 12:00 midnight.
The idea was I'd buy the horses - and my daughter would train them. We bought the horses last year - she's supposed to have been working on training them - but one thing after another - with me supporting her, and now she's leaving - taking a job in Stettler. Very few of the horses have been trained - I'm trying to find some of them homes - to cut down on my feed bill.
And she sprung this on me overnight... It sucks.
Aftershocks (Abandoned Me Pt. 16 / ??)
Disclaimer: Still playing...
Pairing: House/Cuddy and Wilson/Cameron (eventually)
A/N: Now you get a little Wilson, a little Cameron and some Huddy too.
Swinging the door open, Wilson was a little surprised to see Cameron outside it, but stepped aside to allow her entrance. He watched, with a slight smile as she stormed in, pulling off her jacket to reveal her scrubs and watching as she tossed the item onto the armchair before she collapsed boneless-ly onto the couch, obviously pouting.
“Hello Alison, nice to see you too…” He said lightly as he pushed the door shut and it clicked closed.
The tone was so much like his normal self that Cameron looked up her eyes wide, and then she stammered, struggling to speak. “Oh James… I’m sorry.” She stood again. “I shouldn’t have come here… Not with this.”

Pairing: Cuddy/House, Cameron/Wilson (eventually)
Rating: PG - 13
Spoiler: S4 Finale
A/N: Here we have the first of House interacting with the others (well just Cameron in this one).
When she’d gotten the memo from Cuddy, indicating that House was ‘hers’ except for an hour a day in Clinic until he ‘caught a case’, Cameron had to admit she’d had her doubts about Cuddy’s sanity as well as how this was going to work. So she’d decided her best course of action was to minimize possible damage and find House a case as quickly as she could.
That had her sitting at her desk and rechecking each of the patients currently in ER, either waiting to be admitted or released – just to make certain none of them were a possibility for House. “Hey, you’re Cameron right?” House said as he limped up to her, dressed in dark blue scrubs that made his eyes stand out even more than normal.

Conquering Heroes and Clinic Duty (Abandoned Me Pt. 14/??)
Pairing: House/Cuddy and Cameron/Wilson (eventually)
Spoiler: S4 Finale
Rating: PG-13
Three donor tours later and the piles of paperwork having decreased only slightly, Cuddy was able to stop being disappointed and admit to herself, at least, that Cameron’s reality check was a good thing. That didn’t mean she had to like it.
“Hail the conquering hero…”

Days Like This (Abandoned Me Pt. 13/??)
Disclaimer: Not mine. Just playing. NAH!!
Pairing: House/Cuddy and Cameron/Wilson (eventually)
AN: Very short little chapter... I should update with another shortly. This just worked as it's own little scene. Don't hate Cameron - she's actually trying to think of everyone. The song Cuddy is singing to is Days Like This by Van Morrison
With sunlight streaming into her office, her CD player filling it with music even the piles of paperwork that had accumulated could do nothing to bring her down off the cloud she was floating on from the weekend with House – not to mention the fact that she’d definitely put out for every time that Greg had counted and enjoyed it thoroughly. She’d managed to pull some strings with the certification board and had House’s recertification exam scheduled for that morning. More surprisingly, other than a little grumbling – he’d actually sounded excited and had promised to call when he was through.

Disclaimer: Still don't own them. Only playing.
Pairing: Cuddy/House and Wilson/Cameron (eventually)
Rating: PG-13
Spoiler: S4 Finale
AN: Well, well, well... Whoever predicted Cuddy was going to give in soon. You were right. Now - I cut it off where I cut it off because the next chapter will go to Huddy smut land if I let it.
Squinting her eyes shut, and hanging onto House tighter, Cuddy laughed out loud as he took another corner at high speed, and leaned the bike down until it almost touched pavement, swearing to herself that she’d never get on it again (which was a lie – she liked riding behind him too much) and to kill him later (which was also a lie – the most she’d do was injure him a little). She felt the cycle decelerate and picked her head up a little, daring to look around and see where he’d brought her. It seemed to be a park, nothing too special, though even through her helmet she could hear the sounds of feet hammering in the grass, and children laughing.
Domestic Bliss (Abandoned Me Pt. 10/??)
Pairing: House/Cuddy and Wilson/Cameron (eventually)
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: S4 Finale
AN: And back to the Huddy.
Now, she was fairly certain she knew the meaning of domestic bliss.
Not that living with House was a picnic. He liked to watch loud cartoons in the morning while he ate sugary cereal in front of her that made her teeth ache just watching him. He mocked her music. He constantly tried to sneak peaks of her naked (which was actually sort of ego boosting). He was still obnoxious, and picked at her, making sarcastic observations about everything.
A Serious Misstep (Abandoned Me Pt. 9/??)
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Pairing: House/Cuddy and Cameron/Wilson eventually
Rating: PG - 13 (eventually R/NC-17)
AN: We've skipped forward a few weeks. :) We'll be back to Cuddy and House next time. Right now it's time to stir the pot a little.
It was a good sign and Cameron knew it.
She’d convinced him to come out for coffee with her, instead of their now almost ritualized lunch every second day. It was progress – every little thing was progress. After the funeral, she’d started talking to him – not expecting any response. She brought the latest hospital gossip, news about his patients, ER stories. Even a few ‘duckling’ stories, smirking somewhat proudly that instead of going to Foreman, they’d come to her since their confidence in Foreman’s diagnosis was even less than normal on their latest case.

Pairing: House/Cuddy and Wilson/Cameron eventually (not soon though)
Rating: PG - 13 (R/NC-17 eventually)
AN: Not as pleased with this one - but it needed to get out there as it moves the plot along.
“This is so me…” House commented as he stepped inside his apartment, with only his small backpack.
“You could at least get out of my way, House.” Cuddy grumbled from behind him, pulling her own suitcase, her laptop bag over one shoulder and two bags of groceries clutched in her arms.

Disclaimer: Still don't own em...
Pairing: House/Cuddy and eventually Cameron/Wilson (but not for a long while)
Rating: PG-13 for now (eventually R/NC-17)
AN: As promised. :) I like this one.
A soft sigh escaped Cuddy’s lips as she stepped into the relative sanctuary of her office. In reality she wanted to curl up with a cup of tea at home and just not think any longer – of course, her guilt wouldn’t allow her to do that. Shaking her head, a sound from the far side of her office, drew her attention and broke the illusion of sanctuary. “HOUSE…”

Disclaimer: Don't own House.
Pairing: House/Cuddy and eventually Wilson/Cameron (not for a while though)
Spoilers: S4 Finale
AN: I found this really hard to write. Hopefully it compares with the other chapters - you'll have to let me know.
It didn’t seem real. Or maybe she just wished it wasn’t.
She hadn’t known Amber well, neither had any of the other ducklings – current or former. To them she’d just been one of House’s potential fellows – no more or less interesting than any of the others. The only person of their number, who’d truly gotten to know Amber, was now standing alone, looking shattered.
He didn’t stand with her family, who looked staid and cold, gazing towards the coffin, yet just slightly over it. Occasionally they sent a disapproving glance towards Wilson, but mostly he just didn’t seem to exist for them.
He also didn’t stand with them. Those who had known, but not really known Amber. She was among them, standing in the front of the small troop from the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. They didn’t talk amongst themselves, even though they stood shoulder to shoulder. ‘Safety in numbers…’ She thought with a slight shake of her head – since she had a feeling of almost being antelope on the plains of Africa, standing across from a hungry pride of lions (which were the Volakis’).
